Celebrating you and UJS
The Union of Jewish Students [UJS] turned 40 in 2013, well the Inter-University Jewish Federation (IUJF) was renamed as UJS in 1973. Yet any excuse for a celebration can't be missed.
We hope you've enjoyed reading the initial set of profiles and anecdotes showcasing the fun, powerful and diverse times UJS, J-Socs and Jewish students have had in the past 40 years.
Now it's your turn!
Fill in this short questionnaire and let us celebrate you and the part you played in shaping Jewish life on campus.
Current occupation and any community roles
Let's get nostalgic - the serious stuff
What two or three things did you take from your time at university that helped you get where you are now?
What new and interesting Jewish experiences did you have that helped shape the person you are today?
What engagement with Israel did you have as a result of belonging to your university J-Soc? Was your relationship with Israel affected by your J-Soc involvement?
What was the best J-Soc/UJS event or experience you went to?
Let's get even more nostalgic - the silly stuff
What was the cheapest / most disgusting meal you remember eating or surviving on whilst at university?
What song reminds you of your time at university? If there is a specific song that reminds you of J-Soc or a J-Soc event even better!
What was the worst fashion faux pas you made whilst at university?
What was the strangest J-Soc event you ever went to or J-Soc memory you have?
Now & Then
Just as few more questions to show off the more questions to show off the fun you had, the fun you're still having and the difference you continue to make.
Please write a 150 summary biography, including what you've been involved with in the community, wider British society and some highlights from your life.
Please email Jo Hanna Watts (email@example.com) a photo of yourself as a student and one of you now. Please include "UJS 40 Year Book" and your name in the subject line. Thank you!
